Container Pressurisation (Nitrogen Dosing)
- What is Nitrogen Dosing?
The method of pressurising low or non carbonated beverages and liquids is often reffered to as nitrogen dosing. However, some other manufacturers may refer to their products as LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) drippers, droppers, or injectors. Each machine will perform basically the same function, placing a small amount of liquid nitrogen into the headspace of the container between the filling and capping points. - How Does it Work?
Liquid Nitrogen will expand to its gas form when released into the atmosphere. The actual volume of the gas will be in the order of 700 times the volume in its liquid state. Therefore, if we place a small amount of liquid in the headspace of a container just before the capping point the liquid will still be expanding once the lid is sealed. As the liquid changes to gas its volume will increase thereby giving the container a pressure. - Why should I consider it?
- allows you to lightweight your bottles.
- Improve long term flavour as expanding nitrogen displaces headspace oxygen.
- Enables double stacking of pallets.
- Enable reliable vending machine delivery of non carbonates.
- Improves labelling and multipacking operations as bottles are hard.
- Why should I choose Peco / VBS?
As when purchasing any new piece of equipment that has the potential to be 'line stopper' you need to know what features are of key importance. We have prepared a PDF document entitled Things to ask when buying a doser - PDF which can be downloaded from the links bar on the left of this page. Attached to this is a second page expaining how the VBS solution addresses each of these issues.Peco have been working in food and beveage industry within the UK and Europe for over 15 years, we have a wealth of experience in house and a solid reputation built upon prompt and proffessional service, in addition the VBS range of equipment is in our opinion by the far the best on the market.
- How much will it cost
With regard to the equipment costs please Contact Us and will be happy to provide a formal quotation for your application or simply supply verbal ball park figures. We can also calculate your expected liquid nitrogen usage, just let us know your headspace volume, and targetted pressure and we will do the rest.
